39 Weeks

Things are starting to get a bit exciting around here! Throughout the day on Monday I felt lots of Braxton-Hicks (warm-up) contractions. Then, on and off throughout the past few days, I've felt some mild period-like cramps. Nothing painful or regular yet though. True labor could begin just a few hours/days from now or could still be another week or two away. Your guess is as good as mine! Topped the scale at 150 lbs today...I must be having a 12 pound baby!

From Baby Center this week:

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
